Re: Everything I've learned about adrenal fatigue...

This is a great post, so thank you very much for compiling everything in one place! I've been needing something like this. Thanks for the info on the conezymated B-Vitamins. I've been looking into these myself and your post was very helpful.

There are a couple things I disagree with. First, I do not believe all adaptogens lower cortisol. I know this by experience. Eleuthero actually does boost my cortisol levels. It's the only adaptogen I will take. Rhodiola on the other hand makes you feel better for a short time then takes you down. I took Rhodiola and almost died. I hate Rhodiola and would never recommend it at this point to anyone, unless of course you are suffering from high cortisol. Eleuthero on the other hand I have been taking almost, if not, the entire time I have been sick and it never fails to help.

The second thing I do not agree with is the statement that most of us have no idea what severe adrenal fatigue is. I only say that because I have been dealing with this for years and it's always severe. I have been bed bound and sometimes still am for days or weeks at a time. This is shorter than when I first started out because I know what to take and how to eat to get out of it.

And although I can build myself up to do "normal" things at times (more so in the past than now) when I am doing "normal" things it doesn't take me much to send me right back down to square one and immobile. It actually happens more times than not.

There are people with Addison's who are doing normal things that I can't do right up to the point that they have their first crisis. I know this because I am part of an Addisons group. And I think we can all agree those with Addison's are worse off then most of us.

So I think you can have very severe adrenal issues and for whatever reason still be able to do some things that others can't. I think this goes along with your first statements that something different is going on in all of us.

I've certainly noticed it with me. I may not be immobile today but one sudden noise or harsh word will send me spiraling down to where I certainly feel near death.

On another day I can be bed ridden but be able to handle mental stress. So it's really weird and not something I fully understand, but I think that is what is going on here with a lot of people. Severe adrenal fatigue but with different symptoms and stress thresh-holds that differ day to day.

Anyhow, please do not take that as me being difficult. It's just something that stuck out to me as I was reading. And am glad to see that you are getting better!
