Re: Why are we speachless?

I'm always learning as well in these discussions.

I have read the bible as a whole. I do think it all fits together, free will, predestination, our responsibility, and God's sovereignty.

I do believe we have free will. But the bible says in people's free will, they will not choose him apart from regeneration. So anyone not choosing God, is making the choice they very much want to make. They don't desire Him. Just go ask the people in the christian debate forum if they want anything to do with God. I think we know the answer. They've got their minds made up over there. Left on their own, I don't believe they have anything in them that desires God. Their hearts are so hardened against God that they call him a fairy tale. They laugh at God and us. My hope is not in them getting it all the sudden and changing their hearts and minds. My hope is in a powerful God that can do the impossible, a God that changes hearts of stone that are completely against him to hearts of flesh that can love him. But as it stands now, they are making their free will choice to not believe. I just believe until God does the heart operation, that's the only free will choice they will ever desire and do.
But I pray for them, and have hope that God will change them.

Ezekiel 36:26
26And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Just look at how 1 Peter starts out. He says, "to the elect in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the father." Then in verse 3, he says, in according to his great mercy, God CAUSED us to be born again. Now remember that scripture I've quoted a lot lately that says we were born, not of human will, or human decision, but by God. God CAUSES it! Then remember Romans 9. Then remember that the scriptures say no one is seeking God. Then remember those scriptures that say we were dead in our sins and trespasses, and that means spiritually dead. And then pair that with the scripture that says the natural man can't understand spiritual things, and that is because they are spiritually dead. And then remember Nicodemus asked Jesus how to be saved, and Jesus told him you must be born again. But God is the one that CAUSES one to be born again. It is not of human will. Then put all that with all the scriptures that say God is going to do all he pleases. Nothing is going to twart his plan. Then think of all the scriptures that say He knows the end from the beginning, and he ordains ALL our days. Oh I could go on and on, but you're probably thinking, please don't! lol

Sin condemned us all, but God's going to have mercy on whom he desires to have mercy. Those that don't receive His mercy in no way want it. Again, go over and ask those in the christian debate forum if they desire God's mercy. Go ask people all over, if they think they are sinners, and need God's mercy? You wouldn't believe how many people out there think they are good. Why would they need God's mercy? But He surely won't turn them away if they decide they want it. The scriptures say God turns no one away that comes to him. It doesn't matter how sinful anyone has been. If anyone comes to Him, they are forgiven.

1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who are elect exiles of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:

May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

Born Again to a Living Hope

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has CAUSED us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Matthew 7:14
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it?

Yes, only few will find it, and it will be the elect. It will be the ones God CAUSED to be born again, and then those will be able to find that road, which is Christ.

Few here just means minority compared to all the people that's ever lived on the earth. A remnant will be saved the scriptures say.

Romans 9:

27And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved, 28for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay.” 29And as Isaiah predicted,

“If the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring,
we would have been like Sodom
and become like Gomorrah.”
