After years of sharing experiences on this forum, as a general rule, many that have problems with the cleanse or suffer from hunger etc in a large majority if cases it's because they didn't follow the recipe as written. I would say it's highly probable that the grueling issues were exacerbated by the licking thing which kept you hungry throughout the cleanse and I bet you had cravings also.Also your binge eating hamburgers and pizza etc the day before the cleanse is prolly one of the worst things you can do before a fast. Experienced fasters will go on raw foods and juices at least a week before starting the MC. Think about this for a sec now that we've sussed this out that quite possibly this revelation you had about quitting the 1st time was prolly more due that your system never really go to go into a full rest mode since you kept teasing it licking food and keeping digestion activewith all the tasting "foreplay"with no follow through and it just wanted the real thing ;+D
When you eat raw foods and fresh juices the body actually starts to detox gradually so when you jump into the MC it is a gentler transition. On my first I didn't origianlly start out with the MC, I didn't even know about it and had actually started a juice fast. Doing some research on fasting around my 5th day of my juice fast I found this forum read a buncha posts, downloaded the Burroughs book and just intuitively knew this was for me.I credit those first 5 days of pre MC juicing with making easy for me enough that I went 40 days on my very first MC.
