The gist of your answer is the same one that is used by the mainstream "scientists": "There is no evidence".
Lack of evidence is far from "scientific hogwash". There was no evidence that microbes caused deaths in delivery rooms in 19th century so they promptly locked up the only doctor who claimed they should all wash their hands between surgeries (Dr. Semmelweis).
Was his claim "scientific hogwash" because in reality - there really was no evidence to support his claims?
BTW, ever cared to check what Edgar Cayce had to say about Liver Flush ,or will you ignore it conveniently? I hope you know that you have nowhere near his level of accuracy in all health related things, and would therefore do well to excercise at least a little caution and humbleness before you discount his claims...
