Just wanted to chime in and say I agree. I have been interested in health/nutrition for over 15 years and I would say this is the best book I have read on the subject. He spent 5 years researching this book and was surprised himself at the findings. It explains a lot of things that previously seemed confusing, or true but you didn't know why, etc. For example, explains/debunks the whole "a calorie is a calorie is a calorie" and "calories in vs. calories out" thing we've heard drilled into us over the years. Besides weight loss, he addresses heart disease, cancer, and diabetes specifically, along with other diseases. In other words, the diseases of civilization are addressed and explained because they are all related.
It can be tedious at parts but it is WELL WORTH the read. He doesn't give you a whole lot of "take away" in terms of directions and action steps based on the information, like you would expect from a diet guru book, because he lets the research speak for itself, BUT you will have been forming your take away points the entire time you've been reading the book - which is even better, in my opinion.
