Re: Magnesium, worse fatigue?

I seriously doubt the magnesium is doing this. To begin with the magnesium you are taking is almost entirely magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide if frequently used by manufacturers because it is the cheapest magnesium available. But it also happens to be the least absorbable form of magnesium.  Another problem with magnesium oxide is that it reacts with water forming magnesium hydroxide, which is caustic. The magnesium hydroxide burns the intestinal wall leading to diarrhea in higher doses. This is also a really bad thing in cases of already existing intestinal inflammation. On the other hand you are not going to absorb any of it within minutes. Being that your reaction is that quick I would say it is more likely an allergic reaction to something in the tablet.

You would be better off with magnesium malate anyway, which is great for increasing cellular energy by increasing ATP levels.

By the way muscle twitching is a symptom of magnesium deficiency.
