Hunter, my Mum, (a very wise woman), used to say, "its easy to figure out what you don't want in your life, but very much harder to figure out what you do want".
I think what she meant was that figuring out what we want in our lives, on a very personal level,(not material), is a hard job. Instead of saying that I 'don't want' anger and resentment in my life, what I should have been saying is that I 'want' peace and harmony in my life. I know this probably sounds like nonsense, but for me thinking in terms of the positive instead of the negative, made a big difference.
My Mum also used to say, "change your thinking and your world will change", and you know what, she was right, yet again :)
