So you are saying you know what people are doing in their minds? Don't you know that the use of these images have multiple meanings, some of those meanings are deities, such as the Virgin Mary often represents Isis. Its exoteric and esoteric. You don't know what others are doing you cannot see into their minds. I know for a fact that there are people that worship Mary and they aren't all Catholics. Idol worship is not unique to Catholicism, it is widespread throughout society.
