Re: Prisoners fed high soy diet ; develop serious health problems
That was the funniest piece of bogus propaganda I have read in a long time. Funny how the Weston Price Foundation was mentioned so many times. It really sounds like one of there non-factual press releases. I addressed the bogus claims by the Weston Price Foundation recently:
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1542308#i
Furthermore the Weston Price Foundation heavily promotes beef/milk products, for which soy is the biggest financial competitor. So are they writing all this bogus propaganda because they have a financial interest in the cattle/dairy industry? And why is it that they ignore certain facts such as:
-Beef and milk are loaded with actual estrogen compounds unlike plant phytoestrogens. These estrogens in the beef and dairy are literally hundreds to thousands of times stronger than phytoestrogens. So why are they not warning people to avoid beef and dairy since these estrogens promote cancer, blood clots, lowered testosterone and semen counts, etc? Instead they are bashing phytoestrogens, which protect us from these dangerous estrogens by locking up estrogen receptor sites.
-Phytoestrogens and similar compounds are found in all the plant foods we eat. So why are they targeting soy instead of all plants? And why doesn't all the phytoestrogens the cattle eat pose a risk? Even more how do the cattle reproduce since the massive amounts of phytoestrogens they consume should be leaving the bulls sterile and all the cattle gay?!!!
-Since estrogen is "feminizing" according to them, and it would antagonize testosterone, which causes aggression, then why is there so much violence in prison among prisoners? According to the Weston Price Foundation with all the phytoestrogens in their diet the prisoners should be docile and having tea parties with each other instead of trying to kill each other.
As far as the claim by the Weston Price Foundation that soy is the highest food source of oxalic acid they apparently don't know how to do proper research. I addressed this myth back a while ago as well:
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1442763#i
I have also addressed the other myths about soy such as it being a goitrogen. It is ONLY if it has not been cooked or fermented. They are not eating raw soybeans. Raw soybeans will bust your teeth. So the goitrogens are going to be destroyed by cooking.
And I saw NOTHING in their press release showing any proven correlation between the supposed symptoms and soy intake. Let's take a look at the symptoms listed:
'Inmates have complained of a "deliberate indifference" to "serious health problems caused by so much soy," it said, including chronic constipation alternating with diarrhea, vomiting, sharp pains, passing out, heart palpitations, rashes, acne, insomnia, panic attacks, depression and hypothyroidism.'
So we have constipation alternating with diarrhea. Well this is a symptom of IBS, which is caused from a lack of intestinal flora, not soy consumption. Vomiting can be from a large number of things. But I have never seen any evidence of soy causing vomiting. Same for "sharp pains", which is pretty vague. Sharp pains can be from the IBS for that matter. Soy does not cause passing out. This is from a drop in blood pressure. The stress from being in prison can tax the adrenals making passing out more likely. Heart palpitations can also occur from low blood pressure, or lack of blood flow from stress. Rashes can have numerous causes. Acne was the funniest one because it totally contradicts their other claim. Acne results from EXCESS testosterone, which they claim is LOWERED by soy. Oops, they were just caught in another lie!!! Insomnia can be caused by not wanting to go to sleep wondering if your cell mate is going to pay you a visit in the night. Of course you would not be worrying about this if all that soy made you gay! Panic attacks are causes from lactate build up or excess epinephrine release, not soy. Depression? Have you ever seen anyone say "oh I am so happy you are taking me to PRISON, I love prison"? Wouldn't you be depressed if you serving in prison? Is the Weston Price Foundation so desperate to badmouth soy that they have to come up with these completely ridiculous claims? As far as hypothyroidism I have already addressed this misleading claim.
It just amazes me how people will read a propaganda piece and accept it without question. Anyone can make up claims like the Weston Price Foundation has done numerous times. But I have yet to see them back any of these claims with real evidence. Where is their PROOF that any of these problems they claim were from soy consumption were actually liked to soy? All I see is a lot of unsubstantiated claims by the Weston Price Foundation to promote their agenda, which appears to me to be the promotion of beef and dairy sales primarily.
By the way I was raised on soy since an infant, and I still eat soy to this day. I have NO health issues and I definitely am not gay.
I have seen no evidence that most prisoners are gay either. Many of them correspond with women on the outside, have posters of women on the cell walls, and even have conjugal visits with women.
In fact as common as soy is in the US diet, and especially in the Asian diet, why are gay people a minority as opposed to a majority. And how come China is so populous? Do you think gay men and impregnating other gay men?
