look into a show called 'pitchmen' that had people bringing various invention ideas to billy mays etc. One of the episodes had a guy who invented a 'gas shield' that would sit in your underwear (I guess) and block smells and what not from gas and flatulence.

If you can't beat the problem then learn to live with it. You may not cure it but you may be able to minimize its effects.

I say look into the show because i have no idea what the device was called or if it ever went on to patent. but maybe if you are truly persistent you could contact the show and find some info. they must have gotten consent from the guy to use him on TV which means they may have an address for him and his product.
