Re: Hope someone can help
It is funny, but my costochondritis started 2 days after learning from you that such condition exists!
Indeed, the pain under left rib cage I was complaining about in the first place, was inspected by a doctor, and I was told it is muscle-related. I have been having this slight discomfort when bending for more than a year, however, it was not costo. Now I know for sure that costo is different!
I think that exercising chest muscles could have triggered it. The exercises were repetitive and straining. In fact, I also have a minor and occasional pain and tension in my transverse abdominal muscles, they become tight and they hurt upon pressing. I think that maybe I was doing the exercises wrong.
However, when reading other people's blogs and posts with advice for costo sufferers, I really think I do not have a serious case . There're people advising to switch to liquid soap to avoid lifting bar soap... Ykes!
So far my pain, which I admit is quite nagging, has not been continuous nor has kept me from living a normal life. it sounds much more like the description of chronic costo than acute costo.
Today I have tried EFT and it seemed to somewhat ease the pain.
I am planning to take chondroitin+glucosamine which appears to be safe for pregnant women (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_Glucosamine_or_chondrotin_safe_during_pregnancy).
Hot water bottle seems to help, so does bed rest, almost immediately.
I am just so worried at the thought that I could experience this pain during labor, I do not think I'd be able to endure both ! Indeed, the dull nagging pain I am experiencing with costo resembles to labor pain in some way.
The other worry I have is about my root canals, I am afraid they are causing this, and I cannot afford to replace them, I'd be without 1 tooth out of 4 if I just removed them.
I'll try to rest as much as possible and I'll keep you posted. I'll be glad to hear your thoughts if you have any.
Thanks again for your support.
