Re: Hope someone can help

Well I had carpal tunnel in both hands and I worried about labor too. But I have to tell you, when you are in labor there is nothing but that. Seriously. If you had someone amputating a limb without pain killers, you probably would consider it a minor nuisance while you are in labor!!

But believe me, when that baby comes out, all of it is worth every second a thousand fold. And here it is 18 years later and I barely remember it. I wouldn't ever be able to remember that pain like being there....! Just remember while you are going through it that you are working for the best thing that will ever happen to you.

You know what? The breathing works. What it does is center you so that you don't give into the pain, like meditation. I thought it was a crock when I was going to Lamaze, but while in laborI got it. I centered on one thing in the room when breathing, the ugliest painting of a water wheel in some country setting. I stared at that thing while breathing. I can remember that painting in complete detail even today. I wish I'd had some better art to stare at though!! LOL

My husband still remembers it. I think I almost pulled a hunk of his hair out of his head at one point. He stayed as far away from me as I allowed him.

You'll be fine, believe me.

Molly
