Re: The myth of chronic acidosis
I don't hang out at the
Candida Forum , however, I was convinced years ago that I had an overgrowth of fungus. Doug Kauffman [www.knowthecause.com] and his TV show in addition to other sources he recommended, convinced me. Plus it 'made sense' and seem to fit the model of my conditions. I was on his anti fungal diet for about a year as well. I still correspond via email with a group of ladies that I met on Doug's website forum years ago. So I understand the way of thinking that anti fungals and their rotation is a cure for yeast/fungus/candida overgrowth. If you have too much fungus/yeast/candida, then of course you'd take ANTI fungals to cure it, yes?
I also believed the pH theories, specifically, that being over acidic is what causes all diseases, etc., blah, blah blah. [Doug believes that fungus causes most all diseases ... go figure!] That acidosis theory also 'made sense' to me since I connected the acidosis with fungal overgrowth. Fungal overgrowth, I believed, caused us to be acidic OR becoming over acidic causes fungus to overgrow in us. It's easy to get off course and believe things that aren't so. BUT we can only do what we can do, trial and error, continue to learn, which I have done and will continue to do! I do still believe that pH BALANCE is vital to good health.
I have been trying to educate my email group about things I've learned here from Hv mostly. But each person has to decide for themselves if they will change their beliefs about something or not. Like the old saying, "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."
We just need to be patient and keep dropping the seeds of truth!
