Re: 62 Days Fasted on Sugar Free Cherry Limeade
I agree with Donn, scorpioeyes, and chiron, with some great input from Zoe.
For what has always been described as a "Water-Fasting-Support-Forum", and all the health and cleansing benefits that this brings, the forum (sadly) has become much more liberal and all-encompassing in stretching that definition away from its original ideals.
To find these ingredients consumed by someone who is supposedly "fasting" beggars belief.....................
"
citric acid , Maltodextrin, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Aspartame, Red 40, Acesulfame Potassium, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Citrate, Calcium Silicate, Magnesium Oxide. Phenylketonurics: Contains Phenylalanine".
In case anyone doesn't realize it a "water-only-fast-according-to-thirst" brings about the maximum healing potential and cleansing of the body that Nature allows, so for the purists here, and I include myself, Hopinso (one of the original founders of this forum) and Fonty, plus Mouseclick and others, this has largely become a transgression of all the original ideals that went into its formation. Their continued absence is conspicuous.
I do however understand the need to digress from the original subject-matter, such as post-fast and pre-fast diet, and the proper conduct of a fast for example, but then we have to define what we really mean by fasting..............
"The abstention from all nourishment except water, which keeps the body hydrated", OR, "The rest-cure".
Anything else is just dieting, which ultimately leads to malnutrition and possible starvation if continued for long enough.
Genuine fasting conserves food reserves and nutrients within the body, and the prevention of the latter.
For those of you who wish to lose weight there are better and more successful ways of accomplishing this than water- only-fasting, as this method lowers metabolism in the conservation of nutrients, and where a diet of mostly raw, high-water-content and nutrient-dense-foods will accomplish more weightloss than any water-only fast.
It is with much dismay that I find the forum in its present form, and will be deciding (as they did) whether to continue membership or not within the very near future.
