Re: Herbs Are Not Effective and Quite Dangerous
I got talking to a lady in her late sixties the other week. She has been taking different anti-biotics for 9 months for urinary tract infection, and as soon as she stops, the infection comes back. I believe she is also fighting some sort of cancer.
She now has to see a specialist. That is hardly quick is it! lol. You can become immune to them.
Could you elaborate on Uva ursi, and is it safe for someone on probably various other drugs.
Sometimes you don't know whether to say anything, as you are not sure how well received it will be, especially with someone you hardly know. But i suppose she can take it or leave it.
Uva ursi leaves contain two aglycones (hydroquinones bound to glucose). The aglycones remain intact until they reach the kidneys. Then the aglycone is split releasing the hydroquinone in to the urinary tract. The aglycones are highly antiseptic and kill any pathogens in the urinary tract without affecting the flora anywhere in the body like allopathic antibiotics do. Hydroquinones work best in an alkaline environment, which is why the tea should be taken with some calcium citrate to alkalinize the urine. The tea is preferred to capsules, and 3 to 4 cups daily with some calcium citrate is recommended. It will generally clear up an infection within a couple of days, but it is best to take the tea for 2 to 3 days after the symptoms disappear just to make sure all the infection is gone.
