Informative post, Uniquity. But unfortunately most people who become vegans or vegetarians don't know a blessed thing about their clogged-up livers and intestines! So, after coming apart at the seams (instead of cleansing), after a few years of vegetarianism, they turn to, and benefit from, animal products, since the body is smart enough to be able to extract nutrients from animal products, and voila! - everybody sees the improvement and thinks, "Vegetarianism is bad and meat-centered diet is good."
We do "perish from lack of knowledge", don't we?
However, I think that, cleansing or not, some people are just so ruined - for whatever reason, not necessarily a deficient diet - that they will likely need some meat for the rest of their lives.
