Re: What happened to Humaworm?
I understand what you are saying, Willowwisp.
But, I don't think anyone can expect the personal service R.G. once gave, although he may try.
That's just a fact of life.
Even medical doctor's don't give 'bedside manners' anymore. Not many, anyway.
When I was a kid, medical doctors called at the house. My grandmother assisted at my birth...and the doctor came to see me a few hours later. My mother hadn't known how babies are born.
I was put on the kitchen table to have my eyebrow stitched, when I was two. (Whole complicated surgeries were performed on the kitchen or dining room table, once upon a time.)
That was in the 'dirty thirties' (1930's), of course...back when R.G.'s grandmother was trying to help the poor who came to her.
Nowadays, absentee doctors 'own' diagnosis, and 'treatment', and woe-betide anyone who tries to help...without them.
And, doctors have given up the 'cure' word.
So, we who need information are very fortunate to get any.
We have to 'cure' ourselves, by guess and by golly.
Do you know why doctors are so reluctant to teach us anything?
...The cost of mal-practice insurance.
If a doctor seems to promise anything, as we hope he will, and it doesn't happen...we are free to sue him because of his position of being 'learned', yet giving false 'promises'.
I wouldn't be a doctor today for all the tea in China!
I stick to reporting my own experiences, as closely as I can.
If I have a 'hunch', I clearly label it so..."I guess," if I even comment at all.
I'll gladly hold your hand with the very best I understand of my experiences. I'll even guess, and tell you so, on the basis of what I remember of other posts.
I'll try to point to where you MAY find further information.
No doubt others here will do the same.
And, know that many very experienced posters read here, and watch if any of us gets in real trouble.
We all do what we can. You will, too.
We just don't know what R.G. can do.
My best,
Fledgling
