It does sound hormonal with you. You said it started in high school when the hormones kick in. And hormones affect adrenals which when you get nervous the smell increases, hence the term 'smell of fear.'

Whenever I took estrogen, the same day I would get a strong acidic smell. My friend noticed it too. Also, there is a man at the gym that I am sure is taking some supplements that is affecting his hormones. The Acne on his back and arms is terrible, and whenever he works out, his smell is so strong that I have to stay back at least 10 feet. I knew some convicts that had the same pattern Acne and they were taking steroids in jail to grow bigger muscles.

You could try getting a hormonal panel done, but it doesn't always show a problem. It didn't with me and I have been having hormonal problems all my life.

I have been giving a grapefruit seed extract gel on my cat's teeth that is supposed to remove tartar. His breath has gotten a lot better since he has been taking it, so maybe a large dose of that would be helpful.
