Re: cavernous liver hemangioma

Hi- I also had a recent liver resection of my liver on the right side (May 20), my hemangioma was extremely large. I am now left with chronic shoulder and neck pain. My understanding this is a result of damaging the phrenic nerve during the surgery and the right side of my diaghram is weaker. I hate the ongoing discomfort which really becomes acute after I eat. I take ibuprophen which helps temporarily. The surgery is over, but discomfort continues. Ironically I did not have any symptoms prior to surgery, my hemangioma was picked up through an ultrasound. You may want to ask your doctor to do a chest xray which will allow him to see your diaghram, you want to make sure it is moving. Stay in touch. Judy
