Re: Issue 64: Ulcerative Colitis Cure - Vitamin E Enema & Diet
Hello Sheldon,
I began your program last Friday (5/23) and I am beginning to feel the benefits. My cramping has pretty much subsided but I am still struggling with diarrhea so any suggestions would be most appreciated.
My diet consists of the following:
Steamed veggies: parsnips, squash, turnip greens, kale, spinach, carrots, and brussel sprouts and I drink the water used.
½ cup of Brown Rice at each meal with 3 tablespoons of pearl barley. I am currently soaking some of the brown rice and will begin to use it once it sprouts
½ grilled chicken breast or canned salmon with a little salt
¼ of plain yogurt
The other question is the medication I am taking. I currently take (8) 400mg tablets of asacol and 5mg of prednisone each day. Should this be tapered off as I progress through this plan?? What do you suggest?
Also, how long were you on this diet before you began adding foods back in? I am NOT a vegetable person so it is tough knowing this is the majority of what I can have. I do plan to stick to this plan religiously because I am to the point I do not want to leave the house… Anxiety levels get too high not knowing if I would be able to make it to a bathroom….(horrible feeling that can not continue).
Thank you so much Sheldon and I look forward to becoming healthy once again
God Bless
Jim Tate
