Re: My Doctor Wants Me to See a Psychiatrist

I have been going through the same thing. Panic attack, shaky, exhausted... anyway last night I had a bad attack and checked my Sugar and it was 67 and I did not eat yesterday except for an egg for breakfast. I got very dizzy legs felt like jelly and then my eyes went out of focus things were coming and going blurry.
Of course that threw me right into a panic attack.
I did get my Sugar up and as I did my eyes cleared up and slowly I was able to relax again
I have hypothyroidism also and have been back and forth with doctors for the past 2 years while feeling dizzy and all said nothing wrong it is anxiety and wanted to put me on meds.
I finally went to a ND and she was able to tell me right off the bat (with urine test, checking my vitals, eyes that my thyroid was extremely low and the dizzy was hypoglycemia and said my adrenals were worn out :)
she put me on diet, gave me kelp/fucus for thyroid and magnesium at night and said if I get panic attack the 1/2 of an 0.25 xanax is ok but she hopes to get me to the point I will not need it.
I have had more results with this ND in 2 visits then I have had in years with medical Dr.s.
The ND is concerned she calls back right away ( in that day) she even called the following day to check on me.
I have only been doing this with ND since right before Easter so I know she told me it will take a few months to really get things showing improvement. I am not patient and get very frustrated if I do not feel good.
I am sorry to ramble on. I hope this helps someone with understanding of ND.
