As I see it, thoughts themselves (conscious, unconscious, or subconsious) don't create in themselves. It's only when we are *attached* to a thought in the NOW that it is part of the creative process. (Hence Byron Katie's work is useful to check on these attached thoughts like "I am unworthy")
Many thoughts lie dormant (and are not creative) until triggered by something or someone. It is the attachment to thoughts (beliefs) in the NOW that create emotional response. And it is with the emotional response that begins the creative process (feeling good by focusing on what is wanted/feeling bad by focusing on what is unwanted or lacking)

And yes, most people create by default, because they are not conscious that their emotions are creative.
