Re: How do YOU do EFT?

I think I'm missing something here. EFT is about lowering the anxiety intensity around any particular issue. If you're not feeling anxiety, what result are you expecting? And why don't you think you're successful in lowering anxiety that you don't have?

I clearly have to feel the anxiety for EFT to work, and the broader anxiety and sense of hopelessness around the issue, the greater the relief. In other words find the issues that hit you in the gut. "I could be better at public speaking" would work better with "I feel like an embarrasing loser every time I speak in front of an audience".

Finding your "core issue" is probably more accurately described as finding your most private, primal and deep seated fear/emotion etc. Instead of finding things that bother me, I find beliefs about myself that bother me - and those are what I get the best results with.

When you think about it, being able to dispose of negative self beliefs has been the holy grail of most self help systems around from Psycho_Cybernetics to Dale Carnagie, Napolean Hill, Tony Robbins, etc. They all have round about ways to deal with it like self talk, creative visualization, mental imagery that does/can work - but none of it works as fast, directly or dramatically as EFT. Because none of them but EFT works directly to diminish that voice in the back of you mind that says "yeah but" when you're trying to transform your thinking.
