Re: How bad are peoples symptoms?
My experience is that some have better success than others. People who've had candida for a short amount of time have an easier time getting rid of it. I've had this problem for about 10 years (I'm 28 now), which started when a couple of doctors put me on
Antibiotics (twice) for some digestive problems they "thought" might be caused by bacteria. Ever since it's been getting progressively worse. I've been more than just taking good care of myself. I've been a vegan raw foodist for 7.5 years. I've done many intestinal cleanses. I've spent thousands of dollars on supplements. My holistic doctor even put me on a prescription of Nizoral after nothing else had an effect, which didn't work either. (I haven't been on a prescription before that since the
Antibiotics that cause this.) I kept thinking for years that my lack of success had to do with my inability to stick to a program long enough. Now I've disciplined myself to stick to a program and it's still sometimes hard to determine if I'm noticing improvement. I realize now that it's much much much harder to eliminate than I realized.
One thing that has shown some improvement is the program described on candida-yeast-infection-relief.com Yes that's a whole lot of stuff they recommend, and yes it sure is expensive and it adds up. I've been taking so many of their products in the past few months. I have to say that at first I noticed a difference right away but since it's been hard to determine if there's continuous improvement. It might just be a slow process but at least it's some improvement, the only thing that has worked for me ever!
I've been on the candida diet for years. It does not minimize the candida, it just keeps if from getting worse. If I ever eat any kind of
Sugar or starch I get infections immediately and if I continue to eat it, I will persist to have an infection all the time. Over the years my diet has become more and more strict. I'm forced to eliminate more and more foods from my diet because of increased sensitivities. I do think that the candida diet is very important, without it I might as well not throw away my money on supplements to kill the candida if I keep feeding it, but the diet alone does not do anything to improve it for me.
I know some people who haven't had it for very long and might take one supplement for a month or two and they are done. For me unfortunately that's not the case. It's been a very difficult process. With time the candida spreads throughout the body so it's harder to eliminate, rather than if it was only in the intestines. I also now have weird allergy like symptoms if I accidentally eat any kind of carbohydrate where my eyes and nose start itching along with other candida symptoms. I've never had allergies before. Some recent test showed some thyroid problems as well, which I believe are candida related.
It seems that taking a bunch of different supplements in a program has helped more than just taking one or two. Herbs don't seem to do much even in really large therapeutic quantities of different herbs.
I've been tested for
parasites and mercury and the tests show that I do not have either. I've been just focusing on the Stage 2 products that are described on candida-yeast-infection-relief.com This site has been really helpful and the only thing that made a difference.
Overall my health is good, I don't get sick much, I'm very physically active, I think that's mostly due to being a raw foodist and cleansing. It's really all the yest symptoms that have persisted for years and having to limit my diet so much that's so challenging for me.
My boyfriend has had candida problems ever since he was hospitalized with a life threatening kidney infection and they put him on daily interveinous
Antibiotics for a month! I'm surprised he is doing as well as he is. The antibiotics that I took were nothing compared to what he was injected with. So some people react really intensely to very little and others will not react as strongly.
I've been having him take just the CandiClear5 every day, and I think there is some improvement. I think... it's also hard to say because it gets better sometimes but then it gets worse and I can't get him to stick to a candida diet or take many other supplements. He's only had this problem for 3 years as apposed to my 10, so hopefully it'll be easier for him to get rid of. I have to say that for him those antibiotics probably saved his life because the infection was so extreme, but the antibiotics I took 10 years ago were useless. Doctors seem to just prescribe them for anything.
