Re: water fasting for 40 days?
Yes I think I can and so far it is working. I have no little or no desire for cooked food while I am eating between fasts currently. And even when I do have a desire for something cooked it's more than enough just to add it to a salad in small quantities for the taste. The thought of eating chocolate or drinking soft drinks now for example just doesn't interest me at all. In fact eating anything cooked on it's own without high water content salads to help it through my system is just alien to me right now and I hope that trend continues now indefinitely. I was tested christmas day too, not by the normal dead things of course which I actually managed to avoid completely- both looking at them and the people eating them- but by a little thing called a home made fruit mince pie. My mum makes them perfectly and nothing compares, and usually I take them home with me by the dozen. This year I didn't eat one or take one with me, as much as the taste would have been enjoyable the thought of putting even one through my body just wasn't acceptable at all.
I am certainly not fasting just to lose the weight, I have many reasons, not least is converting to the best way of eating that I know from many years experience and research which is raw vegan. I didn't have the motivation when I was younger because I had youth and vigour and little urgency to keep me committed to such a course, but after many years now of stress caused and stress inducing physical abuse of my body through food the motivation is now both strong and enduring to make this choice for the rest of my life.
