Re: Clear scalp for seven years now

I cant believe I found this place. This is the most information I have found. If I could ask some questions. I went to a derm. 13 years ago and they said I had scalp follucitis. I was given presc. creams and soaps. they didn't work and it got worse. Eventually a derm prescibed me minocin or minocycline. taken daily in three weeks they became undercontrol but the doctor said I would eventually become resistent. If I stop taking these pills even for a few days they come back. Recently I was unemployed and uninsured and the problem came back and in force. the back of my head is now scarred and some mild hairloss has occurred. I have restarted my regiment of of now twice daily pill popping but they are not going away as easily. I do not believe I have the most severe form of this disease but I am afraid that day will come. What do you all do to help keep them gone when they leave. I can get mine to go away but as soon as I stop the pills they come back. hypoallergenic shampoos?, anti oil shampoo? anti-bacterial soaps? Also I hate to ask this but I am told this stuff is contagious. My girlfriend is freaked. Is it highly contagious has anybody ever infected someone else. please if that question is rude I am sorry but I have to ask somebody and i always felt alone in this. thanks
