Re: Hi, I'm new, in need of advice

Antibiotics are a one way ticket to candida, ALWAYS. If you have taken Antibiotics , you will have a problem with candida. This is because of the lag time between the time the Antibiotics kill all of the bacteria in your body, including the good bacteria, and the time it takes your body to build back the good bacteria to compete with the candida for space in your gut. (Antibiotics kill bacteria, but not yeast. Without the bacteria, the yeast has no natural competitor to inhibit its growth.)

Nystatin is a more effective long term prescription drug for candida than Difulcan. Difulcan suppresses the growth of candida, whereas Nystatin actually kills it. Difulcan is good for the short term initially, though, because it will stop the candida from continuing to grow out of control. It might take you up to six months on Nystatin to get well, but you will get well on Nystatin.

Some like natural antifungals, but if you are very sick, many do no not find them effective enough to get them well.
