Re: Treatment in Mexico with Hookworm, continued
Hello again,
Well I did get mild asthma and allergies starting shortly after my last post, but they have been diminishing steadily in severity ever since. The clinic predicted that it would take up to sixteen to twenty weeks for me to see a solid improvement pointing out that there had been no research into how long it took to put asthma into remission using helminthic therapy, but that Crohn's took 45 weeks to achieve remission. They also said that allergies and asthma seemed from their experience to respond more quickly than Crohn's.
So, at about eight weeks post inoculation I have seen what appears to be a big improvement in my condition, but based on what I was told I can expect to see further improvement, perhaps for as long as another 37 weeks.
However my asthma is so mild, and is getting more and more mild with each passing day, that I am hopeful that by week sixteen or so I will be in full remission.
My allergies have improved remarkably. Typically at this time of year where I live I have to keep the windows shut when I drive or my eyes itch uncontrollably. That is no longer the case, at worst I get a mild tickle.
So I am almost convinced that this approach is working for me.
I will post again in another month.
