Re: From The Valley To The Mountain And Back Again

PB3046,

You made some very excelent points until you got to this.

"I do not attend an organized church. I would love to find one that has a lot of programs with supportive, encouraging people. I have not tried very hard, I confess. I would like to have a loving, supportive encouraging husband. I have not tried very hard on that. I say to God: "If you want me to have a certain church, or a certain man, please put it/him right in front of me. I will do my part by keeping my eyes open, and my ears attuned to You. More than that, I trust you to choose for me, since my track record in choosing has not been good." In the meantime Christian television is my church."

Jesus said in Joh 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." One of them is in "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

We all want God to bless us and give us what we want, but we are reluctant to be obedient to Him and come to His house here and show our respects. When you don't attend church, everything else is usually neglected or cut down like your Bible reading, prayer time, giving to church or tithing, our service to others, etc. Unless you are bedridden, you should not be attending the Chapel of the Tube with Rev Sheets and Pastor Pillow because that is too impersonal and most of the TV preachers just give some feel good messages with little truth.

Get out of your comfort zone and start using the gift you have to serve God. Find a good Fundamental Independant Bible Beleiving church and start serving in some capacity. The best place to find a husband that you desire is in Church and you will be starting out in the right direction because Christians are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. You are not going to find him on the television screen. You just might be led to the one looking for somebody just like you also.

Even if you had to work on Sunday which apparently you don't, then you should make it to the Wednesday service. God is a giving God and that is why He said it is more blessed to give than receive. So when you start giving of your time to God and others, God will keep your storehouse full especially when you give Him all the praise and glory. For that I can vouch 100%!

This is said in "charity" which is concern for your welfare or the love of God for humanity. I hope this will be an encouragement to you to fidn a good church. And my prayer is that God will give you the desires of your heart.
