Ideals vs. Reality

I believe there is a saying that goes something like this:
"Democracy is the worst form of government - until you look at the other forms."

Socialism certainly has its merits.
I would say that my most preferred forms of government would be, instead of democracy would be:
1) A benevolent dictatorship with a truly WISE, kind, uncorrupted dictator who only acted in the best interest of his people
2) Socialism wherein all the people are hardworking, educated, and not corrupt.

However, these are both impossible ideals.

When we are dealing with real people in the real world, dictatorship and socialism don't work properly and are far less appealing. Some of them work better than others. Considering that all forms of government are "broken" and never carried out in ideal form, I'll take imperfect democracy, thank you very much.
I would like for America to stick with its Constitutional Republic, capitalistic system. Merging a conflicting form of government into a nation founded to be one certain way is very dangerous, and in this case, plain WRONG, as it violates the intent of our governmental inception!

I think that the USA should get back to her roots. All the people who don't like it would be free to move to another country that better embodies their favored system and principles. The good news is, English is widely spoken around the globe. :-)

I can guarantee there would still be plenty of people who would want to immigrate here...
