oooooohhhh Hoppy...a huge hug to you. I am so sorry for the sadness that you have endured...I'm crying, it's so wrong that your loved ones were taken from you., in such a long, painful inhumane way.
and, the child within says "if you really love me, you will not leave...", and then, they leave. And we're left behind to try to make some sense of it all(when there is none, not like THAT).
And the denial of the imminent death. Even though the death of your mother was untimely and turned into a very painful experience, that is at least partially because it was seen as "wrong", huh? (don't tell). How unfair that the dignity of the experience was denied as well.
I also had the honor of being by my mother's side as she died. Absolute grief such as that I have never known.
It is a noble and precious thing to be allowed to escort she who brought you into this world into the next.
And drugged as she was, she knew you were there, she knew your grief, she knows it still. She knows your love.
