Re: Iodine and constipation edit

I also have done plenty of colon cleanses, and even had a series of 12 colonics at 2x a week. I am regular in bms usually, and if I up the magnesium it does get looser stools, if I up the Vit C which I've been doing lately due to detoxing my stools may be looser depending on how much I take. But the Iodine is a catalyst for something going on with my colon. It is a pain I've mentioned in recent posts about a sharp sudden very hurtful pain that always starts in the descending colon, then crosses the transverse colon then I get the same pain in the ascending colon. It can last a couple minutes, then when I push and massage the areas, it lessons, and disapates.

Since starting the mega doses of Vit C I haven't had that pain, so while it may not be the Iodine causing it, it seems to me to be the catalyst that has something detoxing to the point of very painful cramping in those areas. My theory is it's a backed up colon due to excess detoxing, or softening of the older harder fecal matter or even the healing of the tissue of the colon itself. I'm not sure though..it's just a guess right now. But for some reason it is taking the high doses of Vitamin C to keep it at bay, or to help heal it, or to help liquify it and push the matter thru..I don't know. But I've never had that pain, except since taking Iodine, and it didn't start right away..it just started a couple weeks ago and it happened about 6 times, until I took someones suggestion about the Vit C for a leg cramp and it helped that..but it also helped that particular pain too.
