Re: Vit C
Firstly, I agree with everything Hopinson said. She's really good.
Secondly, because
Iodine tends to constipate some people (I raise my hand here)and good elimination is the key to avoiding detox symptoms, I have found that Vitamin C, magnesium or acidophilus taken to bowel tolerance (which in simple terms is just as Hopinso explained, up the dose until you have diarrhea, and then back off the dose to determine your daily dose). You can use any of these or a combination of them, but the goal is to get your elimination up to about three times a day, or more if you have really bad detox symptoms.
Vitamin C has some special characteristics. It is anti-infective and anti-inflammatory. Therefore when you have a body with heavy inflammation (any of the -itis diseases or allergies), Vitamin C works well. A Vitamin C flush works well when you have an infection. A Vitamin C flush will keep you on the toilet for hours.
I do not choose to take Vitamin C to bowel tolerance. It has some drawbacks for me. At higher doses it causes explosive bowel movements and lots of gas.(What we discuss on Curezone!) It can make one nervous (this can be helped by taking calcium along with the C). Vitamin C (as well as citrus juices) taken for a cold drives the cold from the head into the chest for some people (again I raise my hand). So I manage my elimination by a combination of magnesium and acidophilus.
So, for constipation you can use any one or combination of the three, magnesium, Vitamin C, and acidophilus to bowel tolerance. For candida or smelly stools, you would want to use heavy acidophilus. For infection or inflammation, Vitamin C. For nervousness or anxiety, magnesium.
You just have to experiment a little and find out what works for you.
