Re: I'd seen red flags too...

She sounds like a *princess* who lured in
the most vulnerable man she could find so
she could exert total control over him.
(gag)
Make no mistake, most women do not like
women who act like this either. What is
telling about what has been shared, for me,
is that her parents are willing to take in
Nathan and support him while he transitions
out of this relationship. Jeez, and I would
encourage him to step back and re-evaluate.
Lord knows men and woman get remarried all
the time, although, in my experience, I have
yet to see that work out. Still, if he does
step back and is able to look at the relationship
in a different light/angle, he may be able to
claim back his power, or nurture it from
within without having it sucked from him
every night when he crosses the threshold.

Obviously, somewhere in Carmen's life, she
found a pedestal and climbed up and has been
successful in taking on everyone, from her
parents to her husband. If she is not coming
home to care for her children, she does not
have her children's best interests at heart
either. Clearly, shades of NPD. It would most
likely take a very skilled therapist to hold
a mirror up to Carmen, but my guess is that
she would also be looking at someone who really
also suffers from low esteem.

If the kids want to go with him, I think that
would be a blessing. Mama will probably still
cling to her pedestal and revisit the thrill
of finding someone else willing to do anything
for her.

As much as it may be hurting Nathan, I am happy
for him that he has a chance to change in such a
dramatic way. It may be a blessing in disguise...

I wish him well~~

blessings,
Zoe
