That is a lot of rationalizing ("plain" as the nose on your face) in order to make the mark mean...WHAT? The number itself could probably be symbolic of many things (it is an "abundant number") in daily life.

I think it is a grave mistake to think that the words (scripture) of GOD can be "plain as the nose on your face". For two thousand years, scripture has been rationalized to mean anything people wish it to mean (because the "letter" of the word is not simple, only the SPIRIT of the word is simple...LOVE). It is clear that it will be a PHYSICAL mark, whether visible or not (not given only on the forehead only as in Ezekiel 9:4). It shouldn't be thought that The Lord wasn't sure which (forehead OR right hand) or hadn't decided yet, but it is logical to think that there will be two groups of people who recieve it. Uncooperative "drones" will likely recieve it on the forehead (mind control) and "officers" will simply have it on their right hand. Either which way, if we are walking with God, any concern about the mark is only academic because it cannot have any effect on us unless it is recieved VOLUNTARILY. Besides, we'll either be raptured before the tribulation (uhhh, let's not get into that controversy!, nothing else matters if we are walking with God) or killed before they torture us (rejoice).
