my elaboration is that the book of revelation is exactly what it says - the revealing of jesus christ. it is not a book about the world or what will happen in it. it is about what happens in christ. and what have we been told about christ?
22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
therefore, those things in johns book cannot be seen by someone pointing them out. they are not external things. they are symbols which require revelation from the father to understand.
16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
revelation is the rock upon which the church is built. there is no earthly way to interfere with that.
