O/T What is your take on dairy products?
I have given up dairy for a few months because supposedly the casein is allergenic, it contains a diabetes promoting IGF factor and the phospheros : calcium ratio makes the body lose calcium. Not to forget lactose which also is connected with health issues besides an intolerance.
Then I wonder if this is really true?
I also heard the opposite.
The lactose supposedly feeds good bacteria in the gut. The IGF factor is anabolic. The calcium : phospheros ratio doesnt matter since the body is capable of getting rid of an imbalance which can occur depending on the foods eaten on a given day. Of course some people have a cows milk allergy, but there are allergies to all sorts of foods.
I never ate a lot of dairy, but I like some fresh cheese, like mozarella, or some yoghurt. I also used to enjoy some protein powder in my oatmeal to add protein and I like the flavor.
I hear goats milk is supposed to be good for you even of cows milk is not. I tried it and I cant stand the taste - too goatey! :)
What is your take on dairy?
As long as its organic and preferably raw of course.
