My infection can not be eradicated. I am a very complex case with serous mercury poisoning and the most severe chronic systemic candida you can imagine (I am yet to find or hear about someone with so severe candida). I know infection makes adrenals pump more cortisol to put down inflammation, so this is only one of the factors which keeps up my AF.
But I am not willing to discuss my overall state, just to stick to the AF herbs stuff.
Tu Si Zi / Guo Qi Zi sound interesting and I will look into them. What bothers me is the fact you say they may lower cortisol. And while my cortisol is high in the evening, it is low in the morning. And overall, as a sum through the day it might be also low. So I am looking for sth to balance it. I read Maca is good for that and I tried it, but it gave me huge sexual stimulating effect which I don't like. Same goes for Siberian ginseng - have not tried it, but would love to hear if it balances or directly only lowers cortisol.
I might stop Gingko, never gave me anxiety, but not sure about its benefits. I am taking quite a bunch of other brain stimulating herbs - Kavcha (Mucuna Puriens), Bacopa, Klamath algae, Rhodiola.
I have tried Glycin for some time, not sure how well I tolerate it. Generally, if I stick to my program with all the herbs etc... and if I don't try to chelate the mercury, my anxiety is under control. I have severe light and sound sensitivity when I try to chelate the mercury - to answer your light related question. But if my adrenals crash, I startle from noise also very, very easily.
