Americans are the only country to have used Nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction and they call themselves responsible people........
Just throw a Bombs From the air that is what they are doing in Iraq ......they wont and cannot face the iraqis on the battlefeild ....
Most of the british casualties are from friendly fire.....

This is a reply to # 451,705the thought of defending Saddam sickens me, but you need to face some facts. In those middle eastern countrys, that's how they act (killing each other) If Saddam was not the one doing it, then another dictator would do it.
This gassing propaganda thing needs to be addressed by thinking people. Of course it's wrong. But we should look at facts instead of U.S propaganda.
During the Iranian war, the iranians used mustard gas to kill a bunch of iraqis. most those pictures you see on the news were killed by mustard gas from the Iranians, not the iraqis. Saddam fought back with chemical weapons against the Iranians. some of the kurds were teaming up with the Iranians, so they got gassed to. This is kind of like the U.S peace protestor in Palenstine getting killed. U.s. hypocrits say she deserved it for trying to protect palestinian houses. I do not support sadams use of chemical weapons but i also do not support this war.... if you look into the statistics clrearly there are a lot more people killed by the bombs in baghdad than are killed by the iraqi army.
when it comes to the brits if u see their past they have occupied colonies all throughout the world and drained a whole alot of countries of their wealth how can we trust some one who has the past history of looting a whole lotta countries they came to india as traders (east india company) and then ruled india for 200yrs
Americas past is golden and it has a very friendly atmosphere and i would say it is one of the est democracies of the world but when it comes to foreign policy americans have a habit of poking their nose into every thing....

It was Canadians who came so quickly to the aid of all those Americans stranded during 9-11 when their flights from overseas were not allowed to land in the US. And rightly so, Canadians did what they should have done during such a tragedy.

This is a war to occupy Iraq as a staging ground to control the whole Middle East and the world's oil supply for the next 100 years. The French know that, as do the Germans, AND the Russians, AND yes, even the Chinese.
These people are not stupid.
Also, with this rash and moronic invasion of Iraq, Bush has succeeded in galvanizing the Arab world as never before and is about to involve us all in a 'world encompassing' holy war. It's going to be nasty. And most brain dead Americans are caught in nationalistic fervor and war hysteria -- living in 'fear' and 'dread' of some nameless faceless TERROR (which has been morphed into one 'ultimate evildoer' Saddam Hussein by the war criminals in Washington) -- so they wave their little flags, and mouth their 'I love America platitudes', and blithely believe whatever crap the government controlled media shovels at them, even if it leads them down the road to another world war.
Duh!!!
As a Canadian, you should be proud of your dopey Prime Minister. He did something right for a change.
BTW, screw the Americans with a bad attitude. I am one American that doesn't think like the brainwashed herd here in the US (and there are a lot more like me) Who knows, maybe one day the enough of the sheeple here will wake up and put an end to this insanity...

I was stressing how quick many Americans have forgotten what Canadians have done for them in the past but are now being ridiculed because we aren't part of the coalition.
Whether or not what is happening in Iraq is right or wrong was not my issue - everyone has his/her own opinion. But, once again, I was trying to point out that Americans should not forget the things we've done in the past to help and should not be treating us rotten because we aren't part of the coalition.
I read an article about one Canadian being refused gas in North Carolina, and snowbirds being ostrasized in Florida for flying their Canadian flag which they've always done in the past - that's ludicrous for people to stoop so low to be treating Canadians like that.
I do agree with you that this situation is setting the stage for WWIII, and it isn't going to be a pretty picture.

Yes, I know how closed minded and bigoted many (but not all) Americans are... hell, I live here and see it all the time.
I was born in the US but grew up in Canada, then moved back. I know and love lots of Canadians. (why in fact, some of my best family are Canadians)
I am very happy that Mr. Chretien (sp?) took the stand he did. As I indicated, I think he's a bit of a goofball, but he is worlds better than some of the rightwing Bush clones I have seen up there.... eh?
