the argument that fruit and veg won't build muscles has been debunked many many times and is now moot with the many vegan body builders out there.

Not really because you need to eat an enormous amount of plants (which can be harmful, depending on your constitution, if these are dense sticky starchy foods) in order to have the same amount of digested absorbed amino acids compared to directly eating animals muscles...
So yes you can build muscles eating plants only but it is not efficient to do that. Even Frank Medrano admits that he has to eat an enormous amount of cereals, lentils, beans, potatos, to build muscle...
Also this is not because a bodybuilder is a vegan that he has been in the past or that he doesn't ingest a supplement. So you can't say that the muscles mass of a vegan and his reserves come from plants only, you don't know...
Those who are vegan during a long time and who live ordinary lives seem to lose more muscle mass and become really skinny on the face, on the neck, on the wrists, on the ankles, don't tell me that you can't notice that (again see Frank Medrano) Why is that ? (i have noticed the same thing on my face, wrists, ankles, as if i had lost muscle mass and bone mass)

Many are living this diet and are body builders, athletes, full time mothers, doctors,

All they demonstrate is that it is possible to survive and to function eating like this during a few years (i have also observed this from my experience) but this does not mean that it is an optimal diet.

The diet is systemic and must be done in conjunction with other lifestyle changes, or it will not work and the diet will be blamed for the "lack of meat", etc.
[/quote]
Don't be silly, we compare a change of diet only here, we assume that the others entries (airs, drinks), the habits, the movement, the sleep, are the same (and beneficial, of course)

I am referring to The 80-10-10 Diet that is followed by many muscular fit people, even body builders, semi and pro athletes.

Again during how many years have they eaten only plants ? Do they ingest some supplements ? I have seen more skinny weak vegans than muscular strong vegans. (i am talking about people who exercise "normally", and are not obsessive about that)

After I was on 80 10 10 for a year, I lost 40 lbs of fat and became a fitness instructor at the age of 40. I was fitter than any other time in my life, very muscular, which I had never been before.

Ok add some clean animal muscles and i bet that you will be able to eat less, and have more muscles mass and more strength, with no side effects (of course it depends on what your ancestors used to eat, you may have a body which can digest absorb the molecules of plants more easily than others people of others "races")
No comment about your videos of vegan bodybuilders, i can show you similar feats by people who eat plants and animals muscles.
Not all raw plants eaters are healthy and live old compared to other people.
And not all animals muscles eaters (who also eat raw plants and cooked plants (low starch preferably)) get sick or die young compared to other people.
After several years of researches and experiments, my conclusion is that a beneficial diet depends on which foods your ancestors used to eat and to digest absorb well, and about in which conditions the food (plant/animal) is grown, and how it is prepared and cooked, and what kinds and how much residues it leaves in the body (that's why i don't like dense sticky starch or milk/yogourt/cream/cheese). And as you may know, there are also others factors to consider which may impact the digestion (like the parasitic worms load, the blocked waste load, the toxic substances load)
I know that you probably don't like this conclusion, but you probably agree that you won't try to feed an animal with kinds of foods that he is not supposed to eat, because on the short term he may survive, but on the long term he will get sick and have excesses and deficiencies. Reality can be harsh sometimes, i know. I don't really want to hunt and kill animals, but if it is beneficial for my body to eat animals muscles, i will.
I highly suggest to take the time to watch the episodes of this tv serie :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItkFNexQIro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdfaavscKzs
It clearly shows which kinds of foods are available in the wild. (and HCRV only would not be possible in many places of the world, even if fresh green leaves and fresh fruits are beneficial (except maybe the fruits with too much acids and the leaves with too much oxalic acid))
And also notice how at the end of the season, those who leave the island seem more beautiful more healthy more "shiny" than when they came on the island... Why is that ? (they ate mostly mammals/birds/fishes/shellfishes)
Anyway you do what you want but please don't become too dogmatic !
