Here are a few areas for you to research re breaking down internal scar tissue:
1. Ultrasound therapy
2. Magnet therapy
3. Massage therapy
4. Accupunture
5. Osteopathy
All the above can be used to break down internal scar tissue but it will be dependent on the expertise of the practitioner.
Another thing to consider, stress promotes constipation and digestive issues.
If you carry a lot of stress/worries/anxieties, it will exaggerate and amplify any physical problem.
Exercise always helps ... it can help tire the body but not the mind. So maybe consider adding in different forms of exercise - yoga, tai chi, pilates etc. ... ones which help to center you and may include a little meditation chucked in as well. If those are not available, walking quietly in nature will help.
There is a mind-body connection to constipation. It is linked with holding onto things/fear of letting go - this could be in any form: relationships, clutter, grudges etc. A wholistic approach (mind-body-spirit) for yourself will include thinking about what you have in your life (people, things, thoughts, beliefs etc.) that no longer serve you. Letting go of those, can relax your body and produce easier bowel movements.
You might like to add some rice bran to your diet, as that contains good fiber + vitamin E which will help scar tissue soften.
Of course, seek professional physical therapy as well.
Oh, and make sure you read this article on squatting and the effects on the colon: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2004/07/28/fear-the-squat-...
I'm sure you'll find a solution that doesn't include surgery. Relax :-)
Best of health to you!

I agree wholeheartedly. One of the things digestive enzymes do is break up fibrin, from whence scar tissue is made. I recommend several digestive enzymes two or three times a day on an empty stomach and make sure that you include serrapeptase in the mix. For more information about digestive enzymes, see:

I have used a combination of an outstanding product, Garden of Life's Omega Zymes, plus serrapeptase and topical applications of Dr. Christopher's Complete Bone, Skin and Tissue ointment (which also comes in capsule form) and had wonderful results against some facial scars I got as a result of a botched effort to use the infamous black salve to get rid of some spots.
All the best,
