"Again you show your ignorance in thinking that a vegan can't get fat. We can overeat the same as anyone can. Do you think all vegans are skinny pale and anemic?"
TOTALLY AGREE, ANDREW.
Ignorance is indeed bliss. Let them be, if it makes them feel better :)
How strange. I have tried exercise, atkins diet, f-plan diet and every diet under the sun to lose weight, they have all failed. Yet since doing a 27 day fast I have lost around 12 Kg including some weight gain after the fast, but the extraordinary thing is that after the weight gain I am still much lower than my starting weight and I CONTINUE TO LOSE WEIGHT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE STUFFED MYSELF THIS CHRISTMAS. See my earlier comments about the rebound effect, and replies by Chrisb1 and Fonty. and see graph (weights recorded every one day when fasting, 2 days when refeeding):
What I find remarkable is that I appear to be losing weight after the fast now that things have settled down, even though it's Christmas and I am eating much more than I usually do. Yet if I had dieted I would be putting on weight, and believe me, I know from many years of experience of unsuccessful dieting.
Do you have any real life examples of people who put on all the weight after a fast to back up what you say? If so, I am wondering how come my experience is so different? My experience is exactly the opposite to what you say in every respect!
