New Tastes - Review of the Fig
I'm hoping that by doing this, I will not need or want anything from the aisles of a supermarket. My exploring will lead to creative meals that are tasty and 75-90% raw.

You will be able to find everything I taste at your local farmer's market or along the outer rims of the supermarket. This week's post will review the Fig. My favorite salad has dried fruit in it. I believe the sweet taste is to balance the sour of the goat cheese and the salt from the meat added to the salad. Last week, I added dates to my salad (the original recipe has dried cranberries).
While walking through the produce section of Whole Foods, I noticed a carton of figs. I decided to take a chance. If I didn't like them, I could always blend them into a drink or something. I never had them before. I noticed them at the farmer's market last week, but I didn't buy them.
Well, was I pleasantly surprised today. First, they look very exotic. When I sliced them open, I knew they would taste heavenly. They went so well with the goat cheese. The sweetness went well with the lemon-tahini dressing.
I will be out of Figs on Wednesday. I will continue to buy them as long as I can get them from the farmer's market.
I'm looking forward to my next new tasty treat.
