Upon doing some research on healthy diet it was suggested I look into the Rave Diet & Lifestyle by Mike Anderson.
I read a bit and was compelled to order the book for the website www.RaveDiet.com
The book got to my house yesterday just before I was heading out and so I thought I would just take a peek at it. Well, I was hooked. I ended up going out on my porch and reading a great deal of it.
When I finally went out to do my errands I was deep in thought about what I had read and decided not to turn on my radio so I could absorb the information that was stimulating my deeper self.
I knew it was my deeper self because I am in touch with my spirit enough to know when something touches me in a deep way.
Now this book comes with a DVD called 'Eating' and I watched it last night. To put it mildly it was devastating. I sat on my sofa, mouth open shaking my head. And then came the part about how animals are dealt with, I say dealt with instead of treated because they are not treated at all.
At the beginning of this segment there was a warning about how graphic and upsetting this may be to people and perhaps some may want to skip ahead to the next part. I thought about it and decided that I needed to be honest and accountable in my life and owed it to the animals I have been eating all my life to watch what was really happening to them.
I did have some knowledge about the meat and dairy industries practices from reading A 'Diet for New America' by John Robbins, heir to the Baskin Robbins fortune who gave it all up to move to one of the Gulf Islands in British Columbia and grow his own food and raise his family. As a matter of fact after reading that book my ex husband and I went Vegetarian for almost 2 years, eventually the things we learned fading away to the background, we bought an organic turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends. I have been eating meat ever since experiencing many many health issues along the way!
So I watched 'Eating' and for most of it, I cried like a baby. I felt ashamed to be a part of the horror that is Meat and Dairy. I felt ashamed for hiding behind my ignorance and for not being more proactive for something as huge as what I put into my body and the bodies of the people I love.
I realize that I was brain washed by the 30 billion dollars in advertising by the Meat and Dairy Industries to convince me that "Milk is good for every body" and that I needed the calcium to grow strong bone etc. What a bunch of %¤#&!§-!
With a normal plant based diet a body get all the protein and calcium one could ever need with out the disease causing cholesterol,hormones,pesticides/toxins,saturated fat, oxidants and the terror and torture that you ingest by eating tortured and terrified farm animals. Sickening and heart breaking!
All of this on top of the catastrophic effects these practices are having on our planet.
I invite you to do some research on this matter and really look at what you are putting into your body and the bodies of your family. As of last night I will no longer eat or drink meat or dairy. It takes one person to make a change and today I am going to be that one!
