Moon Walk
it's a process...
Date: 4/27/2006 5:46:25 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 3094 times I'm in what seems to me like a whole new world here, the world of being back at my full time job after two *blissful* months of leave time. Walking everyday would be dreamy, but in reality I have not gotten enough sleep in the past 8 days, let alone carving out a time for walking. I walk whenever I can though, even if it just involves parking as far as possible from the store when I go shopping...stuff like that.
Yesterday afternoon I went walking for 15 minutes in the neighborhood by my private office-studio. That was nice.
I had decided earlier in the day to treat myself to a body cleansing foot bath with a local natural practitioner. I had heard a lot about these foot baths and really wanted to try it for myself.
It was soooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing. And walking after it, for even a short 15 minutes, felt like floating on air. Literally.
The foot bath is supposed to draw out toxins from the body through the pores at the bottoms of our feet. Not sure if this technology is scientifically proven. I can tell you this, though, it sure was deeply relaxing.
All of the walking I've done since the foot bath has felt light, and easy. It's been nice.
In fact, when I have the time and get used to being back at work, I want to increase my morning walks to 45 minutes, possibly an hour.
Weight loss is one desired outcome for me with all of this. I have the patience to keep doing what I'm doing and know that eventually it will happen.
I watched the news on TV yesterday, something about Dr. Phil helping a 700+ pound woman....got me to thinking.
I'm nowhere near 700 pounds, and fit easily through doorways and in booths at restaurants, but I do need to lose at least 100 pounds. Seriously.
And I will.
So I appreciate you being here with me during this process.
Who knows? Maybe morning walks will be the starting point, but working out at the gym will be the push my metabolism needs to actually get my body losing weight in a healthy and balanced way.
We'll see.
Blessings to you,
