Many Walks
enjoying walking with other people lately
Date: 4/6/2006 5:03:43 PM ( 18 y ) ... viewed 2097 times Hello! I have been doing well with my daily walking lately. The days I stick to eating vegan/raw/organic I have the most energy and walk the furthest. Interesting how that works...
And it does work.
I cannot report anything near perfect discipline with regard to the vegan/raw/organic eating that I am working towards acheiving 100%. I do not, however, beat myself up over it when I am not 100% perfect with it.
About my recent walks: I enjoy the walks so much more when I am walking with other people lately. This is rather unusual for me, as I treasure aloneness and have for years. I am pretty balanced, enjoying solitary activities yet also savoring companionship every now and again.
With these walks it strengthens the daily commitment if others are involved. Like today...I walked with my daughter. Her boyfriend was there for part of the time, and off by himself for part of the time. It is always nice to spend time with my daughter. We were in downtown Boulder. We walked, ate lunch, then walked again. She likes to stop in stores, and I can do with or without stopping in stores. It helps my budget not to stop and browse, actually.
The downtown stores are mostly so big, though, that one can continue walking without slowing the pace and just switch tracks to inside the store. That's what I did. We walked for about 40 minutes altogether.
My daughter got her car back today which is great, because the public transit bus drivers are on strike here, and I find it reassuring that my daughter has a safe way to get back and forth to work.
She's been without a car for months.
It was nice to see her and her boyfriend today.
I also wanted to veer off track for a moment and mention that I'm greatly enjoying Juliano's Flax "Crackers" lately. They're 100% raw vegan organic which is nice.
Someday I'll be one of those raw food enthusiasts who prepares all the fancy raw stuff in my own earthy kitchen. But for now I buy the fancy stuff at my local co-op and am grateful to have the co-op as a resource.
Now, back on track, a little bit about my other walks since the rainy day Saturday.
They've been entirely uneventful, actually. I'm happy to feel my energy increasing, and my walking pace quickening, due to no pain in my legs and back, which is a whole other story I won't tell right here right now. If you want to know, please do feel free to ask me.
The sunny days recently have been nice. Every spring I find myself wishing the weather would just stay this perfect and not get hotter or colder. Perhaps that would get boring? Who knows...
Blessings to you,
vibr8
