Day 57 - A light Lunch
Gently gently

I felt hunger today, so 6 days into the new liquid fast leg I had a small japanese style lunch of maybe 80g of salmon sliced up as sashimi with 1/2 an avacado in slices and a little pile of pickled ginger (one I found at the chinese grocer without msg - was pickled only in brine, so I sweetened it up using leftover fig jam I had in the fridge and it came out beautifully) - dipped in a little soy/wasabi with a 1/4 of a small cucumber with some sesame seeds sprinkled on it - this very small plate made me feel very full, had a glass of kefir also and that was enough to totally satiate my desire.
I'm back down to 165lbs which was what I hit before breaking the fast for the 1st time day 48 - a few days before christmas. Feeling good - the little meal seemed to pick me up and my muscles stopped aching afterwards - having a bit of a slow day today, gave my bf a massage on the massage table as he was feeling rough with a bit of a pinched nerve thing going on - put on some hemi-synch music and gave him some stroking with warm oil for about 40 mins... watched a little tv show (my Nikita fetish) and pressed my hanging bag of curd into a small bamboo steamer - setting it into a small wheel of what will be cheddar when it's aged and dried enough. Gave my sis a Merry Christmas phone call - a bit of a lazy day - sun's just going down now.
Today I haven't got such a strong idea where this fast is going from here. I'm planning a trip mid January for a week or 10 days - camping and going on a small retreat & roadtrip - not wanting to be fasting during that - eating light would be good though - and not eating rubbish - sticking to really clean wholefoods etc.
I've been thinking about it & that what I might start now is kinda just fasting on liquids for a few days - having something - winding the fast down slowly that way and on the days where I do eat something, just eat something really low cal and easy to process - a bit of protein and veg like today - maybe a bit of chinese broccoli another day - bought a bit today where I got the steamer in the eventuality that I have that as another day's small meal. Think I'll just go really easy and back and forth a little bit leading up to the 10th or 11th of Jan when we head of for the road trip. Maybe I can eat light and healthy on the road trip while I'm traveling and then come back and do another small leg of fasting then just transit into the intermittent 1:1 fast diet - that sounds like a good plan to me at the moment. Take my yoga mat and keep up the exercise while I'm camping and on retreat :)
I was reading a fasting blog somewhere on here where someone advised just adding on a small amount of calories when coming off the fast - slowly - like 1 or 200 cals of food a day etc over the first week and slowly bumping it up 1-200 cals each week -- that sounded like a good way to avoid much weight gain as you transited back to solids and eating - might keep that in mind as I go forward from here.
I still want to lose weight - I'm really happy with what I've accomplished thus far - feeling so much more fit, my yoga has progressed heaps and now I'm adding some isometric strength training to it which is toning me up pretty quick - really liking looking in the mirror again and how I'm fitting into my clothes - getting down from here might take time I realize, not sure if I'll keep on liquid fasting much more this summer or just adopt a new and much healthier lifestyle with the 1:1 diet - either way I should continue to fit up and lose more weight and do myself a lot of good. Pretty amazed with the fact that I got to about 50 days, and here I am nearly at 60 with only a very small amount of food eaten the whole time. Never got this far before - it was tempting just to keep going to see how far I could get! I got really bad thrush after 40 days - that's a new symptom of fasting for me, seemed to be just very acidic down there for some reason - my bf did a bit of research and figured I was vitamin c deficient - something I had never thought of, and started giving me lemon in warm water every morning which seemed to clear it up -- so that's something I'll keep up from now on while fasting - I don't tend to take vitamins etc, though I do use a special bee pollen/honey product that has a strong whack of b complex, amino's, minerals, etc -- c's and important one though... living and learning :)
Hope the thinkgs I learn along the way help others out there too :)
