Wow... 18 Days in!

A Babbling 18 Day Blog Entry

18 days today, pretty good to get this far, deep into the fast - I think this is the first time I've got past the 2 week mark without having anything solid or a soup - I do have the craving in my mind, still thinking about curry laksa - it ends there though! It's funny how the mind will seize on one thing when you fast - always happens to me - I then think to myself well, why do you want that... do you really? & present to that craving mind another image or two of other delicious foods and nothing... can't interest the craving mind in other things - there is just 0 urge there, which tells me it's not nourishment, but comfort - flavor and a break from the 'flavor boredom' of fasting --- So having addressed that... on & proceed :)
I woke a bit late and grumpy this morning - just had these thoughts in my head, oh it's going to be one of those days... etc.. no real reason for this - just didn't feel like doing anything, everything seemed a chore... to counter that, it is an absolutely beautiful day, the warmest we've had in weeks - sunny and beautiful - got out in the garden and watered my plants, planted a few things that were looking like they needed to go out of their pots and into the ground then put on some Roxy Music and went to work on the front hall cupboard, a great big cupboard that needs to be completely gone through, re-vamped - organized with space for recording equipment... been doing that for a couple hours now and have made some progress - not done, but might make it a 2 go job and sort of be happy I've got halfway today. Starting to pack it back together with 3 new empty shelves and the tall closet part much clearer... Have to go over the garage again and expand the studio we've been creating soon but need my partner and a solid day or 2 for that - some of the closet things can be better stored in there which will free up more space again...
Enjoying a bit of reading of late - Wilhelm Reich & yesterday read the whole Twin Peaks Diary book by Jennifer Lynch - that was pretty good - I liked how she portrayed the character of Laura Palmer as so intrinsically innocent whilst living a completely dark double life... found that quite deep, seems to come from a compassionate writer with a lot of wisdom although the story is fairly simple. Layers of depth easily overlooked - I liked how she created that atmosphere in such a subtle way.
Enjoyed reading some blogs and Fasting info today to remind me of the benefits and put me in tune with what I'm doing - it's easy to kind of forget when it's been quite a while. Read about milk fasting and found that really interesting - I had no idea such a fast existed, raw milk and kefir would be a great fast - maybe one day I'll try it, I guess I'm on a way reduced version of that most times I fast in a way as I do have milk in my tea and cocoa - not a lot of it, but it is very soothing and makes it easy for me to stay on long fasts - I haven't noticed it ever slowing down the detoxing or weight loss or any other benefits so it's what works for me - nice to know there is so much info out there on milk fasts and the benefits of raw milk and kefir - I could totally do that as an adjunct, end/beginning etc - raw milk can be pretty expensive and have to drive around a bit to get it, still - would be really nice to do sometime. Researched how to make soup pastes today - might do that sometime, in no hurry - just like the idea of making my own free of msg and crap and having them on hand -- got a kaffir lime tree last winter and love using the leaves in Tom Kha - etc -- my partner loves that kind of soup as well, so I might make a few different soup pastes one of these days - put them away for easy soups when I do re-feed or just for him to enjoy in the meantime.
Should just go out and enjoy the sunshine a bit - might take a book out there - feel a little scattered today, a little irritable... don't know what it is just ?? A tad restless, bored.. not too bad considering it's day 18 and how well I've gone - happy I'm working on that cupboard today also - still have to at least pack the mess back in and leave it half done and not all over the hallway. A good start at any length :) All this stuff I haven't done in so long - the house is so much better -- OK, I'm sort of babbling... I am going to read out in the sun
Best Luck to all you out there taking your health into your own hands.
