Fast Day 9

Day 9 now, feeling good - Did my morning practice and really got back to my Yoga fully today.. that was great, feeling much better in the body, got some much deeper stretches happening, fasting always seems to progress this... Now I need to keep it up for a week then add on some Power Yoga to the Kundalini Yoga & neck/shoulder stretches I do -- do some walking (it's been rainy and cold tho :) and use the bullworker a bit to get some strength back in those muscles. Fave juice at the moment is spinach tops from the garden with a third of a beet, couple carrots and an apple... one in the morning... sometimes I have a second juice in the eve, not always - otherwise it's a bit of tea, water, a watery cocoa... maybe some shrubs in the water sometimes.. Still cleaning, did a bit on the overstocked tea cupboard and basket this morning while deciding what I wanted to drink... Now I've got some friends from out of town prodding me to go to an overnight free festival on the outskirts of town - with the on and off rain and the fasting and being inward I was kinda thinking of giving it a miss... a phone call from an excited friend I don't get to see much has got me motivated however... Probably not going to camp out overnight though... might just go down for a bit of the afternoon/eve - make up a few bottles of water and shrubs to bring... Juice? I don't know... don't think the fresh stuff travels so well... Maybe a thermos instead... see how I go with all the stimulation of bands, friends, chilly weather (better rug up!) - an adventure... why not? Trying to find someone to bring along, but might have to go solo.. maybe it's better anyway, then I can just bail when I want.
The fast has been great so far, easy as pie, very rewarding, feel so much benefit already but want to go a really long time... so 9 days is just nothing really, a beginning... I'm fed up with the pounds I put on in my 30's and want to let my body use all that excess energy up - with it, the accumulated toxins, the heaviness I don't need anymore and go back to a lighter more organic way of eating when I do... it's tough in Melbourne battling the cold weather that makes you want to eat lots of warming foods and not do much.. I really wish I had central heat in the house, not going to happen though - aaah the bain of being stuck in two rooms warmed by heating units for months on end and making love under so many blankets --- it always takes a toll on me... had a central heated house once while I was in Oz & loved it, barely knew it was winter and didn't have to deal with that whole freezing in the house for 7 months thing... archaic... to say the least. I've already been thinking it'll just have to be a kind of diet of small light soups and winter salads and roast veggies with millet and things like that to keep me warm enough when the time comes... for now it's blessed spring & I'm able to fast for some time in the gentle weather and get flexible again after being so sick. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change and to change the things I can lol...
