Day 40 of Journal, Day 2 of juice fast
Started the day well, but ate in the afternoon.

a.m. weight 201

2 50 grm. protein drinks
a.m. dry sauna 1 hour
p.m. dry sauna 50 minutes
1 hour circuit training, legs, chest, arms.
Went to the gym this morning. Decided to take it easy and sit in the dry sauna. I weighed in at 198.4 lbs. I did two 30 minute sessions while ready Fast Food Nation. I enjoyed the book very much. It quite shocking to learn some of things that go on in the fast food industry. It definitely opens your eyes to the interworkings of the meat, poultry, and fast food industry. I haven't eaten a hamburger since June of this year and I don't plan to eat one any time soon. My kids will no longer eat any hamburger meat from any fast food establishment as long as I have control or say in the matter.
I have reduced my intake of red meat considerably. Since July 1, I have eaten red meat on 4 occasions. One thing I have noticed, it did not taste quite as delicious as it usually tasted, at least how it is percieved in my mind. I remember thinking during my juice fast or water fast how delicious a fine cut of steak would taste and when I actually did eat it, it was not at all what I had built it up in my mind to be. I don't plan to be a complete vegetarian, but I do plan to eat more
vegetables and fruits and definitely less red meat. I will be more aware and selective of the meat I consume in the future.
I did a keytone test strip analysis this morning and it came up negative. I am sure by this evening my body should be in full ketosis mode.
I ate 4 tamales this afternoon because I took my mom out to dinner. They tasted so good after 48 hours of juice fasting. My wife at one. She has exhibited more will power than me lately. She's down 19 lbs in 2 months. I very proud of her. Percentage wise she has lost just as much weight as I have these past two months. She's down about 15.6 % of her body weight and I am down about 16.8 % of my body weight.
We went to the gym tonight. I was planning only do cardio and sauna, but since I carbed up with some tamales, I decided to lift weights. We drank a 50 gram protein drink while we worked out and drank one more right after we finished. When I got home I hopped on the scale and it read 202.4 so I am up four from this morning's work out. Will juice tomorrow.
